Pictogram of Fire - Your Grill Guy Fire Safety

Grease buildup is the leading cause of grill fires. The NFPA estimates over 10,000 home grill fires every year. The majority caused by accumulated grease in drip trays, on burners, and inside fireboxes.

A clean grill is a safe grill. It's that simple.

Regular cleaning removes the fuel source before it becomes a problem.

Old carbonized grease doesn't just taste bad, it releases harmful compounds when it burns.

Including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are associated with health risks when inhaled or ingested over time.

A clean grill means cleaner smoke, better flavor, and healthier meals for your family.

A grill full of grease and food residue is one of the most attractive things in your backyard to rodents and insects.

Mice nest inside grill fireboxes. Spiders, particularly yellow sac spiders, are drawn to the smell of propane and build webs inside burner tubes and...Blocking gas flow and creating dangerous backfire and flashback conditions.

Clogged burner ports, grease-coated grates, and blocked venturi tubes rob your grill of the heat and consistency it was designed to deliver.

Grease accelerates rust, clogged burners burn out faster, and neglected cast iron cracks and crumbles.

Regular cleaning can easily double the life of your grill...and costs a fraction of what it takes to replace it.

What to Expect From Your Grill Cleaning

Booking a professional grill cleaning for the first time comes with a natural question...what exactly is going to happen in my backyard?

Here's a simple rundown of what the process looks like from start to finish so you know exactly what to expect when Your Grill Guy shows up.

  • Booking & Confirmation — Schedule online in minutes. You'll receive an automatic confirmation with your appointment details and a reminder the day before.

  • Arrival — I show up on time, introduce myself, and do a quick walkthrough of your grill or outdoor kitchen before starting. This is where I assess the condition and scope of the job.

  • Setup — I lay down tarps or protective covering around the work area to protect your patio, deck, or surrounding surfaces before anything gets touched.

  • Disassembly — Every removable component comes out: grates, heat plates, burner tubes, drip trays, and anything else that needs individual attention. Each piece is treated and cleaned separately.

  • Degrease & Dwell — Professional foaming degreaser is applied throughout the interior and on all components. It gets time to penetrate and break down grease and carbon buildup so the scrubbing does less work.

  • Scrub & Scrape — Every surface gets the attention it needs: grates, burner tubes, firebox walls, lid interior, and drip channels.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a cleaning take?

Most standard gas grill cleanings take 90 minutes. Larger grills, pellet smokers, and full outdoor kitchens typically run 2–3 hours depending on condition and the number of appliances. I'll give you a time estimate when you book.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

You don’t need to be present during the service. Simply ensure I have access to the grill area and that pets are secured, and I’ll handle everything from there.

How often should I have my grill professionally cleaned?

Most grills should be professionally cleaned at least once a year, but it depends on how often you cook and what you’re cooking. For households that grill a few times a week, twice a year tends to be the sweet spot. If you cook often, a quarterly service may make more sense.

What if my grill hasn't been cleaned in years?

A heavily neglected grill may require additional time and will be quoted accordingly. I'll let you know upfront if the condition affects the price before I begin any work.

Will you damage my grill during cleaning?

Cleaning may reveal rust, wear, or other areas that have naturally deteriorated over time. Before service begins, I photo-document the condition of your grill and note any existing deficiencies. I use the proper tools, techniques, and products to ensure your grill is cleaned correctly.

Do you use a lot of water?

No, and that's intentional. I work with professional foaming degreasers that cling to surfaces, dwell, and lift grease without requiring heavy water rinse. This means less mess, less runoff, and a faster, cleaner job overall.

What areas do you serve?

I serve all of Hays County, Texas...Kyle, Buda, Dripping Springs, San Marcos, Wimberley, Driftwood, and surrounding areas with no separate trip charge. Outside of this service area may require additional trip fee.

How do I book a cleaning?

Easy...use the booking link on this page to pick your date and time, select your service, and confirm with a deposit. Or you can call me. You'll receive a confirmation with everything you need.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major credit and debit cards, and cash. Payment is collected at the time of service or through the online booking system at the time of scheduling.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens. I just ask for at least 24 hours notice so I can offer that slot to another customer. Rescheduling is easy, just reach out by phone, text, or email and we'll find a new time that works.
